The Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing Offer Nursing Assistant Program to begin Monday, May 19

The Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing, Beebe Healthcare, will offer a Nursing Assistant Class beginning Monday, May 19, 2014.  The classroom portion of the class will be Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the Beebe Healthcare Campus.  The clinical experience will be Monday through Friday from 6:50 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at a local, long-term care facility.  The clinical experience is expected to begin on Monday, July 7, and end on Thursday, July 17.  This course meets all the requirements for taking the examination to be certified as a nursing assistant in the state of Delaware. 

 

The cost of the program is $1,900, which includes the cost of the course and clinical fees, the textbook and the Nursing Assistant Certification Examination Fee. Additional fees paid by the student are $69 for fingerprinting and $22 for CPR certification.  To be admitted to the program, you must have a high school diploma (or GED), and successfully complete the Criminal Background, OIG, Adult, Child Registry checks and a drug screen.

The Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing, at Beebe Medical Center, is the only hospital-based nursing program in Delaware, and is accredited by The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), formerly NLNAC.  The diploma in Professional Nursing is awarded at the completion of the curriculum, qualifying graduates to be eligible for National Council of State Boards of Nursing NCLEX examination, leading to licensure.  Beebe graduates consistently have high NCLEX pass rates and can complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at Wilmington University and University of Delaware through well-defined articulation agreements.
