Delaware Ag Museum sets banquet and auction March 5
The Delaware Agricultural Museum and Village will hold its first Dinner Banquet and Auction beginning at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, March 5, at the museum on South DuPont Highway in Dover.
Ag Museum President Richard Bergold said this will be a way for the Delaware agricultural community to view the many exhibits and reminisce about times gone by. It will also provide a new and fun way to raise revenue for the museum, which is privately funded.
Everett Moore, event chair, said, “The Ag Museum is one of Delaware’s little-known treasures. This will be a fun event and will give history buffs and the ag community a chance to come together and spend an evening with friends and neighbors.”
The event is being catered by Abbott’s Grill. The auction will be conducted by Green Gavel Auctions, featuring Ben Twilley, a member of the museum board of trustees. Some of the items available are vacation stays, hunting trips, rounds of golf and special shotguns.
Dick Carter, local author and board member, has prepared a full-color commemorative dinner booklet for the event, outlining the museum’s roots and describing its many programs. Doors open at 5 p.m., with social hour commencing at 5:30 p.m. and dinner served promptly at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets are $75 per person or $130 for couples. Tables for eight are available at a price of $450. All tickets include museum memberships. Ads are available in the commemorative booklet, and live and silent auction and raffle items are being accepted.
