Barbara Ernestine Jakubek, New Life volunteer
Barbara Ernestine Jakubek, 78, of Lewes, passed away Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. She was born Friday, Aug. 26, 1938, in Bronx, N.Y., the daughter of the late Ernst and Rose (Bedic) Biermann.
Mrs. Jakubek married the love of her life, Ronald, in Yonkers, N.Y., in April 1963, there beginning her life's work of raising and nuturing her family. She enjoyed crafting, cooking and visiting Harrington Casino with her friends, and was a volunteer at New Life Thrift Store in Rehoboth Beach. Mrs. Jakubek was a warm, giving woman who was passionate about her children and grandchildren. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the opportunity to know her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jakubek was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald. She is survived by her sons: Christopher Jakubek and his wife Karen, Scott Jakubek and his wife Maria, and Ronald Jakubek and his wife Annette; her grandchildren, Allison, Timothy, Brian, Miranda, Tyler, Madison, Gavin, and Ryan; and her brother, Ernie Biermann.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m.
