Bethany Blues explands fleet, adds app

Bethany Blues is known for innovative barbecue and serving the best classic bourbon cocktails at the beach. Now it’s expanded the fleet of vehicles and added a new app for ordering online to more broadly serve the Bethany Beach area. Though Bethany is the original location, it has been more seasonally populated. With a growing number of year-round residents, Bethany Blues finds itself changing with the times.

The new app, powered by ChowNow, allows customers to go to www.bethanyblues.com and order food for carryout. Customers can also download the Bethany Blues app directly through iTunes Apple store or on Google Play. The process is simple and streamlined. Customers pay online and can pick up their orders in person - perfect for those who are on the go and/or digitally inclined. This is available at both the Lewes and Bethany locations.

Bolstering the new electronic step forward is a physical one: an expanded number of delivery trucks, allowing for bulk delivery orders in the Bethany area. Jessica Nathan, catering guru and director of operations for the Lewes location, says, "People often call in for catering, but they don't require wait staff. They want the same delicious food for a crowd, and that's where we can come in with delivery and setup. It's essentially casual catering."

The delivery service has been available in Lewes, and is a welcome addition in Bethany Beach with warmer weather on the horizon. The spring season brings a myriad of catering needs from graduation parties to beach picnics and other large gatherings. The Casual Platters menu covers many of these needs from signature barbecue items to cold platters featuring sandwiches and wraps, to salads and, of course, desserts.

The spin on the general catering experience is that only 24 hours’ notice is needed to order the Casual Platters and other bulk orders, although it never hurts to order further in advance and get on that delivery docket. Either way, no matter what side of the Indian River Inlet bridge clients are on, Bethany Blues is ready to roll in with food that will be the talk of the client’s next event.
