October 21, 2016

The Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park will hold their Annual Christmas Boutique and Book Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Officer’s Club in the park. This event includes offerings by the Friends’ Café, a bake sale, a book sale and handmade crafts as well as new items. There will be a large raffle with lots of prizes, too. Event Chairs Edna Lemiska and June Gallagher expect this event will once again make the park a weekend destination.

The café will be open all day with a selection of hot dogs, homemade chili, sodas and coffee to sustain visitors for a day at the park. As always, the Friends’ will also offer a wide selection homemade baked goods for sale. The boutique will feature Christmas crafts, gifts and stocking stuffers made by local craftsmen as well as new gift items. Also available will be sweatshirts, T-shirts, and hats – both with and without the FOCHSP logo. Handmade local quilts will also be on hand.

The book sale will include a selection of both hard cover and paperback offerings at reasonable prices. Quality donations are sought and may be delivered to the Officer’s Club from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 11. Book Sale Chair June Gallagher promises that donations will be screened to assure that the books on the sale tables are the kinds that people want to purchase. As always, textbooks, encyclopedias, magazines, and torn or mildewed books are neither solicited nor accepted.
