City of Rehoboth hosts Rehoboth Elementary art exhibition

Rehoboth Elementary fifth grade class displays artistic talents
June 21, 2018

The City of Rehoboth hosted the opening reception of the Rehoboth Elementary SNAP art exhibition June 6. The reception at City Hall was attended by over 100 people, including the Rehoboth Elementary fifth grade class, staff, parents, Mayor Paul Kuhns, and Rehoboth Beach Police Department Chief of Police, Keith W. Banks.

Parents and other audience members alike were able to witness the artistic talents of the children through their photographic adventure, which were made possible by the use of iPads. These students, while still working toward their other classes, as well as enjoying life away from school, spent the last several months outside the classroom, using the iPads as a learning device to create these images in the city.

When asked about the event, City Manager Sharon Lynn said, “This event gave students an opportunity to experience the traditional structure of an art show and was a wonderful community-builder. All the students should be extremely proud of the work they created. A very special thank you to art teacher Kellyann Ranieri for her help to make the show a possibility.”

The exhibition hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The show will run through July 27.
