Daniel Charles Gagnon, loved the outdoors

Daniel Charles Gagnon, 73, of New Castle, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017.

Born in Dover, Nov. 27, 1943, he was a son of the late Elisez Cyrille Gagnon and Dorris Marie (Panchaud) Gagnon. Daniel was a graduate of St. Peter's High School in New Castle and took pride in serving in the Marine Corps Reserves for many years. He was employed by Boilermakers Union Local 13.

Daniel loved the outdoors, especially skiing and canoeing. His hobbies included reading and participating in a bowling and pool league, where he traveled to Las Vegas. Daniel enjoyed traveling and was proud to have visited 48 states. Above all else, he cherished his time spent with his family, friends, and beloved pets.

Daniel is survived by his daughters, Michelle Kelly (John) and Amy L. Gagnon; brother, Thomas Gagnon; sisters Nancy Fox and Jill Gagnon; and his four grandchildren, Lucas and Nathan Gagnon, Cassidy Blevins, and Carly Gagnon.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 23, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where a service will begin at 6 p.m. Interment will be private.
