Edward L. Swierczewski, had passion for fishing

Edward L. Swierczewski, 86, of Millsboro, formerly of Wilmington and Clayton, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Ed was born in Wilmington, Jan. 9, 1931, son of the late Leopold and Tekla (Kielkowski) Swierczewski. He retired from the Carpenters Local Union 626 in Wilmington after 30 years of service.

Ed was a simple man who owned in Massey's Landing for over 40 years, became a permanent resident in 1985, and had a passion for fishing. He was a lifetime member of the Polish Library, a past member of St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Wilmington, and a current member of Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church in Millsboro.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary M. Swierczewski in 1993. He is survived by a son, Michael Swierczewski and his wife Joyce of Millsboro; two daughters, Connie Crew and her husband Butch of Chestertown, Md., and Catherine Swierczewski of Millsboro; a sister, Lucille Duszak of Wilmington; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 12, at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, 30839 Mt. Joy Road, Millsboro, where friends may gather and visit after 9:30 a.m. Interment will be held privately at All Saints' Cemetery in Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Ed's name to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
