Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Vitalo, touched many hearts

August 1, 2017

Elizabeth "Betsy" Vitalo, known as "Nell" to her mother, 29, of Long Neck, formerly of Newark, passed away Friday, July 28, 2017.

Betsy's passions were anime, drawing, tattoos, dance and music. For years she participated in the Polar Bear Plunge and raised money for Special Olympics. She touched many people's hearts.

Betsy was beautiful, free-spirited, an artist and she loved new adventures. She enjoyed walking her two fur babies, Daisy and Nan, and everyone in the neighborhood loved them. Betsy and her mother not only had a mother-daughter bond, but they were each other's best friend. The connection and love they shared was so strong it could move mountains.

Her passing has left many hearts broken and she will be deeply missed by her mother, Theresa "Terri" Vitalo-Saienni; daughter, Lita Anderson; uncles Christopher "Uncie C" Vitalo and his wife Aunt Jennifer; Michael Vitalo and Aunt Angel McCambridge and cousin Michael "Mikey" Vitalo. She is also survived by close friends, Mr. Lou Rufo (Adopted Grandpop), Jamie Anderson, Keith Morris, Ali Martin, Jesser and so many others. May your mind be free of worry, fly tiny dancer fly.

A celebration of Betsy's life will be held at 6 p.m., Monday, Aug. 7, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, where friends and family may gather after 5 p.m. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Mental Illness and Suicide Prevention Funds. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.melsonfuneralservices.com.
