Freda F. Hudson, Big Oaks Campground owner

Freda F. Hudson, 96, of Lewes, passed away Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017, in her home surrounded by her loving family.

 She was born July 27, 1921, in Chester, Pa., a daughter of the late Harry B. and Bertha (Bowden) Wilson.

Freda was the co-owner of Big Oaks Campground in Rehoboth Beach.

She is survived by her daughter Barbara A. Plummer and her husband George Plummer III; two grandsons, Gregory Edward Plummer Jr. and his wife Anita, and Jeffrey Mark Plummer and his wife Dana; four great-grandchildren, Gregory Edward Plummer Jr. and his wife Amy, Zackary Thomas Winfield Plummer and his wife Nicky, Jeffrey Mark Plummer Jr. and his wife Kylie, and Whitney Marie Plummer and her husband Chris; one great-great-grandchild, Rowan Plummer; and a sister, Vietta Banning.

Freda was preceded in death by her husband, G. Edward Hudson, who passed away in 2007, and a daughter, Carolyn Lee Hudson.

A funeral service will be held Friday, Aug. 11, at 11 a.m., at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro. Interment will be in Henlopen Memorial Park in Milton.
