John William ‘Bear’ Cooper Jr., tattoo artist

John William Cooper Jr., "Bear", 42, of Delmar, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2016.
He was born March 18, 1974, in College Park, Ga., a son of Rhonda S. Cooper Hearn of Delmar and the late John William Cooper Sr.
"Bear," as he was fondly known, worked as a lineman in the cable industry for several years before following his dreams to become a tattoo artist. He was known for his creativity and skill in the tattoo business. He will be remembered for his crazy sense of humor, his beautiful singing voice and his love for dancing.
In addition to his mother and her companion Steve Bengel, he is survived by children Kristofer Fleetwood, Cheyenne Fleetwood, Dayton Fleetwood, Ivy Allen, Alex Sumrall and Angel Muir; grandchildren William and Catherine; a brother, Robert Cooper Johnson; sisters Sylvia Lewonas, Tina Anderson (Tommy), Mandi Hearn and Cassie Hearn; and his best friends, Rebecca Lyons and Pearl Prettyman. He is also survived by a niece, several nephews and a host of close friends.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 4 p.m., at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 32827 Old Stage Road, Laurel.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to any Bank of Delmarva branch, c/o John Cooper Benefit.
