Due to a rainy weather forecast, the last leg of former Gov. Jack Markell's cross-country bicycle ride has been postponed to Tuesday, Aug. 8. Markell will cycle from Wilmington to Rehoboth Beach and dip his bike tires in the Atlantic Ocean around 2 p.m. Tuesday. The public is invited.

Cyclists are encouraged to join him as he nears the ocean. They can cycle from Dogfish Head Brewery parking lot in Milton starting at 12:30 p.m. and Cape Henlopen High School parking lot at 1:30 p.m. Organizers of the event suggest that cyclists arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time. Riding for Motivate The First State, every pedal Markell takes raises money for youth charities in the state. Go to JackChallenge.org to make a donation.
