Mary Lou Sheehan, successful realtor

Mary Lou Sheehan, 64, of Rehoboth Beach passed away Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018.

Mary Lou was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and spent her early years in Lewes, then moving to Forest Hills, N.Y. Upon returning to Lewes in 1969, Mary Lou graduated from Cape Henlopen High School in 1970 and the University of Delaware in 1975.

Mary Lou was initially employed at Beachweek Publications, a family-owned business, and in the off-season travelled extensively with her mother and various traveling companions throughout the U.S. and overseas. She eventually joined Jack Lingo Real Estate Group as an associate broker, and began a career in real estate sales which endured for over 30 years.

Mary Lou was predeceased by her father and mother, Joseph A. and Elinore L. Sheehan; and a brother, Daniel B. Sheehan of Hughesville, Pa. Mary Lou is survived by a brother, William M. Sheehan (Linda) of Pinehurst, N.C.; and nieces Margaret Barnes (Eric) of New Jersey, Danielle Sheehan of New York, and nephew Joseph Sheehan (Tammy) residing in Williamsport, Pa.

Throughout her career, Mary Lou cultivated scores of clients and friends who provided lasting relationships and wonderful traveling opportunities. Summer activities and social gatherings were always eagerly awaited. Boating on Rehoboth Bay with her numerous friends was a cherished activity.

Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.

The family wishes to thank everyone for all their thoughtfulness, especially Linda Anagnostakos and Bryce Lingo, who spent countless hours providing emotional support and personal attention to making Mary Lou's final months comfortable. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vitas Community Connection of Delaware.
