Pooches in the Park a huge success

September 21, 2017

What a glorious afternoon it was in Lewes Canalfront Park Sept. 9. The 5th Annual Pooches in the Park was a huge success, with so many people, most with four-legged family members, enjoying a fun, picture-perfect day in the park.

Friends of Lewes Canalfront Park thank all those who joined us for a "pawsitively" good time. Our appreciation also goes to the 24 local exhibitors that included those for pet-related goods, services and volunteer groups. Agility, obedience and dog behavior demonstrations thrilled everyone in attendance and allowed attendees to try their hand at these skills as well.

This event was free to the Cape community because of the support of our sponsors and volunteers. We are indebted to our lead sponsor Savannah Animal Hospital who not only helped to underwrite the event but provide staff for planning and implementation.

Our heartfelt thanks also go to P.U.P.S of Lewes. Thanks to the Issel and Fischbach/Tugend families for their support.

Assistance from the City of Lewes, the terrific "Tentations" team of the Historic Lewes Farmers Market, and volunteers from Savannah Animal Hospital and Friends of Lewes Canalfront Park was invaluable in making this such a successful event in our beautiful city park.

Please join us for our last event of the season, Oktoberfest Saturday, Sept. 30, and throughout the 2018 season for free events, including movies, concerts, yoga and Zumba.
