The Delaware Quality-of-Life Coalition will host its Annual Excellence Awards Dinner from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 20, in conjunction with the Celebrating Progress in Hospice and Palliative Care Conference. The conference will be held from 2 to 5 p.m., and it offers education in hospice and palliative care topics for attendees. The dinner event honors the outstanding professionals throughout the state who make a significant difference in the care of individuals dealing with end-of-life issues. Early-bird registration for the conference and dinner is available until Saturday, April 8. The event will be held at the Outlook at the Duncan Center in Dover.

The Excellence Awards are designed to recognize outstanding healthcare professionals who have demonstrated excellence in the delivery of palliative care in hospice, long-term care, acute care and community settings. The coalition encourages organizations and individuals to nominate those who they feel have gone above and beyond in end-of-life care. To nominate a physician, nurse, certified nurse assistant, counseling professional, unsung hero or community organization, go to www.dqolc.org.

The Delaware Quality-of-Life Coalition is registered as the Delaware End-of-Life Coalition, and is a nonprofit 501c3 organization. The coalition's vision is to stimulate public and professional awareness, share knowledge, and create change so that every Delawarean is aware of issues and choices related to end-of-life.
