Rehoboth Bandstand concerts to begin May 27

May 19, 2017

Since 1963, the City of Rehoboth Beach has offered free entertainment at the Bandstand for residents and vacationers. This year marks another exciting season featuring an abundant variety of entertainment for all ages to enjoy beginning at 8 p.m. every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Performances will kick off with the hot summer sounds of Sons of Pirates Saturday, May 27. They are sometimes billed as a Jimmy Buffett tribute band, playing the beach music of Buffett, Marley, and Zac Brown, and splashing in classic hits from James Taylor and more. Every show is like a party at the beach. Desert Highway will perform Sunday, May 28. Their critically acclaimed performances are a nonstop journey through numerous radio hits, top 10 singles and favorite solo works of The Eagles.

The season jumps into full swing with The Uptown Band Friday, June 16. The exhilarating musical synergy they have created with audiences in their home region of the Northeast and beyond since 2006 continues to grow. The Uptown Band is one of the country's most-requested and versatile acts. The U.S. Air Force Max Impact will perform Saturday, June 17, and Triple Rail Turn, formerly Philbilly, will be performing Sunday, June 18. This band is the Philadelphia area's answer to country music.

"This season is one of the best lineups we have had in years," says Program Director Corey Groll. "We can assure you it will be the most exciting summer season. Whether you join us for one concert or the entire series, we look forward to seeing all of the familiar and new faces in the audience this summer."

All events are sponsored by the City of Rehoboth Beach. For a complete 2017 event list and performance descriptions, go to www.rehobothbandstand.com.
