Rehoboth VFW Post 7447 and Auxiliary present awards at Cape Henlopen High School

Rehoboth VFW Post 7447 and auxiliary members were proud to attend both JROTC Awards Night and Seniors Awards Night at Cape Henlopen High School recently to distribute awards for their various competitions held during the 2015- 2016 school year.

JROTC winners receiving awards on May 25 during JROTC Awards Night were JROTC Cadet of the Year Alexandra Atsidis; Young American Creative Patriotic Art Award recipient Yvette Rodriguez; National Citizenship Education Teacher Post Recognition Award recipient Sgt. First Class Richard Hurt; and JROTC Outstanding Cooperating Teacher Lt. Col. (Ret.) Ronald D. Erale.

Awards were presented June 2 for the Voice of Democracy Audio Essay Competition to: Grace Brokaw for first place, Travis Self for second place and Hannah Lowe for third place. The VFW Post 7447 Continuing Education Scholarship of $500 was presented to Nicholas "Cole" Conrad.
