Restaurant association to host summer job fair in Rehoboth April 15
The Delaware Restaurant Association will host a hospitality job fair from 12 to 4 p.m., Sunday, April 15, at Atlantic Sands Hotel & Conference Center in Rehoboth Beach.
Specific to the hospitality industry, the job fair will offer introductions for applicants to available jobs in local restaurants, hotels, and other food service and retail establishments. More than 30 employers will be represented with positions for the summer 2018 season and beyond, with both full- and part-time positions. Eagle 97.7FM will be broadcasting live. The job fair is sponsored by Panera Bread, Irish Eyes Pub & Restaurant, Grotto Pizza and Iron Hill Brewery.
Delaware Restaurant Association President and CEO Carrie Leishman said, “This is the only industry-specific job fair in the area – a great way for Delawareans to find a seasonal job or an exciting career in the hospitality industry. Restaurants and other organizations at the beach are ready to hire and are offering rewarding opportunities for students, those looking for a first job or those seeking a new and exciting career. Restaurants are the largest employer in Sussex County and a vibrant part of our state’s economy.”
This inaugural event seeks to connect job seekers with the multitude of available opportunities in the restaurant and hospitality industry prior to the start of the busy 2018 summer season. Connecting restaurant members with applicants is a natural fit for the DRA, the industry trade organization that provides education, events, networking and advocacy for restaurant and related companies throughout Delaware. The buzz surrounding the event has been strong, and employers have been snapping up tables quickly.
To date, companies/employers participating include Iron Hill Brewery, Atlantic Sands Hotel & Conference Center, Panera Bread, Grotto Pizza, Irish Eyes Pub & Restaurant, Fins Hospitality Group, Big Fish Restaurant Group, Jake's Seafood, Heirloom, Dogfish Head, La Vida Hospitality Group, Henlopen City Oyster House, Nicola Pizza, Cuvee Ray, Bethany Blues, Casa DiLeo, 99 Sea Level, Peninsula Golf & Country Club, Ropewalk Bethany Beach, Greene Turtle, DiFebo's, Harpoon Hannah's, TKO Hospitality and Candy Kitchen. More companies may be added.
