Richard A. Cobo, retired firefighter

Richard A. Cobo of Millsboro died Sunday, April 9, 2017.

He served during the Korean War with the U.S. Army from 1953-55. Mr. Cobo was a Baltimore City firefighter for 33 years. While there, he campaigned for Muscular Dystrophy with "Fill the Boot" donations. After retiring from the fire department, he resided in Millsboro.

He was the beloved husband of Kathleen McGill Cobo; devoted father of Monica Corwin, Pamela Cobo, Melissa Wilson, Hollee Sifford, Stephen and Michael Cobo; and stepfather of Mary Ann and Anthony DeNicolis. He was the loving grandfather of Niki Tuttle, Michael Pearce, Phil and Dave Wilson, Jessica Burrell, Keith Sifford, Jonathan, Josh, Carly, Lily, Emma and Aubree Cobo, Morgan and Brian McFaul; seven great-grandchildren; and brother of Jack Cobo and the late Thomas Cobo.



Family and friends may call for visitation at McComas Funeral Home P.A., 50 W. Broadway, Bel Air, Md., Tuesday, April 18, from 2 to 4 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Magdalen Mission, 1716 Churchville Road, Bel Air, Wednesday, April 19, at 1 p.m.

The committal service will follow at a later date at the Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, 200 Padonia Road, Timonium, Md. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Baltimore City Widows and Orphans Fund, 1202 Ridgely St., Baltimore, MD 21230.
