Robert ‘Bruce’ B. Smith, construction retiree

Robert "Bruce" B. Smith, 78, of Millsboro, formerly of Philadelphia, Pa., passed away Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.
Bruce was born in Upper Darby, Pa., June 27, 1938, son of the late Joseph Knox and Louise (Muir) Smith. He retired in elevator construction from Local 5 in Philadelphia in 1975.
He was a mason with the St. Alban Swain Lodge 529 in Philadelphia, and a member of the consistory in Philadelphia. In his spare time, Bruce enjoyed woodworking.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 32 years, Anna "Ann" M. (Tamburro) Smith; four children, Douglas O'Neill and his wife Amy Russell and their two children, Ruthie and Lloyd O'Neill; Cynthia Foster and her husband Tony Foster, and their three children, Maxwell, Graeme and Arlen Foster; Robert Smith Jr. and his wife Cindy Smith and their two children, Corinne and Kyle Smith; and Frank Prophet and his wife Roseanne Prophet and their two children, Bryce and Sasha Prophet. Bruce is also survived by a brother, Joseph Smith, and a sister, Suzanne Reardon, both of Coatesville, Pa.
