Shields leader celebrates National Principals Month in Delaware with governor

November 11, 2017

The Delaware Association of School Administrators announced that Gov. John Carney has declared October 2017 to mark National Principals Month in Delaware. The governor met with Shields Elementary School Principal Jenny Nauman, Delaware Association of School Principals president; Becky Neubert, Delaware’s National Distinguished Principal of the Year; and DASA Executive Director Tammy Croce to receive a proclamation in observance of National Principals Month. Carney asked Nauman and Neubert to share their journeys to becoming principals and acknowledged their commitment to leadership and meeting the needs of Delaware’s students and staff.

Dr. Susan Bunting, secretary of education, and Rep. Harvey Kenton, R-Milford, expressed their gratitude for the work principals do and acknowledged the critical role principals play in student, staff and school success.

DASA thanks Carney, Bunting, and Kenton for recognizing the work of all principals and assistant principals in the state of Delaware, and the importance of school leadership. National Principals Month commends the significant contributions all Delaware school principals make in the education of the state’s youth.
