Shirley Aretta Stramacchia, accomplished baker

Shirley Stramacchia, 82, of Millsboro, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Beebe Healthcare, Lewes.

She was born Dec. 8, 1934, in Baltimore, Md. Shirley spent her life caring for her children, grandchildren, and her beloved husband. Shirley was an accomplished baker, making birthday and wedding cakes, and a longtime coordinator for Brown Bag for the VFW and American Legion. She spent most of her time alongside her husband Lou Stramacchia as he played in his country band, Highway 13.

In addition to preceding her husband in death, Shirley is survived by her two sons, Michael Stramacchia of Millsboro and Mark Stramacchia of Wilmington;  two daughters: Theresa Mcgee (John) of Pennsylvania, and Victoria Eastburn (Robert) of Millsboro; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, family would like donations to be given to the Millsboro Fire Company, 109 E State St., Millsboro, DE 19966. Celebration of life will be held at IORM Fraternal Home, 17451 Nassau Commons Blvd., Nassau, Saturday April 1, at 1 p.m.
