April 9, 2017

Seven students at the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing received scholarships presented by the Irene P. Sorbara Charitable Foundation Trust. Sorbara established the trust to provide annual scholarships for residents of Sussex County who are pursuing postsecondary education in the fields of nursing or teaching.

The first scholarship was awarded in fall 2010. Sorbara was born in Lewes in 1938 and died in 2007. She was an elementary school teacher in Rehoboth Beach for 30 years.

This year's senior recipients are Bethany Campbell, Milford; Christopher Miller, Lincoln; and Megan Pusey, Frankford. First-year student recipients are Cara Melendez and Alexandra Myer, both of Millsboro; Hannah Powers, Georgetown; and Michaela Trice, Seaford.
