Jean E. Sangrey, enjoyed traveling

Jean E. Sangrey, 82, of Lewes, passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Beebe Medical Center due to complications from lung and heart disease.  She was born Oct. 20, 1930, in Woodbury, N.J., daughter of the late Clifford L. and Isabelle (Broadbent) Smith.

Mrs. Sangrey and her husband relocated to Delaware in 2004 from Cherry Hill, N.J.   While in New Jersey, she was a longstanding member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church.  Mrs. Sangrey and her husband were active members in the Holiday Ramblers RV Club and enjoyed being on the road.

Mrs. Sangrey was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and made beautiful cross-stitch art.  She also had a collection of birdhouses.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son Jeffrey.  She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Joseph Sangrey; children Jill Jackson and husband Burt of St. Paul, Minn., Jay Sangrey and wife Julie of Cherry Hill, and Joyce Morgan and husband Greg of Stoughton, Mass.; three grandchildren:  Ryan Sangrey, Brooke Sangrey and Charlie Morgan; and other relatives and dear friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 7, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes.  Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 2 p.m.  An additional celebration of life may be held in New Jersey at a later date.
