Margaret Miller Jones, sang in church choir

Margaret Emily Jane Miller Jones, 92, departed this life Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at the home of her sister-in-law, Cora Miller.  She was born to the late Marian Miller Lacey.

She attended local schools and later went to  Delaware State College in Dover to complete her high school education.  For many years she did domestic work for families in  Henlopen Acres.  In her later years she would go to Florida for six months of the year and work for Mr. And Mrs. Fine. While in Florida, Margaret met Clifford Jones.  He moved to Delaware and on June 3, 1969, they were married. She was a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church (now Faith United Methodist Church) and loved to sing.  She was a member of the church choir and the gospel choir.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marian Lacey; and two brothers, Orrie Miller and Martin Miller.   She is survived by one sister-in-law, Cora Miller; and two goddaughters, Savannah Blackwell and Marshelia Hood; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Margaret will be sadly missed.

There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 17, at Faith United Methodist Church, 19940 Church Street, Rehoboth, and the funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Feb. 18, at the church, where friends may call one hour prior.
