Sylvia Ruston Gee, avid baseball fan

Sylvia Ruston Gee, 75, of Millsboro, passed away Monday, March 18, 2013, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.

Sylvia was born in Dover, the daughter of the late T. Robert and Catherine Croes Ruston. She graduated from Laurel High School in 1955 and East Carolina University in 1959. She was a homemaker and loved to knit, crochet and sew. She was a member of Long Neck U.M. Church in Millsboro.

She was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and the Delaware Rockets Travel Baseball Team, in which her grandsons Luke and Connor Wootten are active players. She was known as Mrs. Gee by many players and families and also "a friend of Bill."

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wilbert Croes.

She is survived by her son, James Wootten and wife Gail of Middletown; two grandsons, Luke and Connor Wootten; and two sisters, Joyce K. Ruston of Wilmington and Bonnie C. Ruston of Georgetown.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 21, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
