Spring pops just in time for the Masters on impeccable Augusta course
The Masters is one of my favorite non-Ryder Cup golf events to watch on TV. The course is always in such impeccable condition that it is like watching a video game where everything is just perfect! I also really enjoy this event because it is the only men's major tournament played on the same course every year. Because of this, and my family's claim of my addiction to the sport of golf, I can tell you what every hole looks like! Tiger Woods is obviously one of the favorites this week with how well he's been playing this year, along with Phil Mickelson. Combine their records at this tournament and you have seven of those ugly green sports jackets between them. If you asked me who else I think could win this year, it would be Matt Kuchar. He was actually tied for the lead with three holes to go in last year's Masters after making an eagle on the 15th hole. We will see who ultimately wins! This nice weather would normally have me out on the links encouraging my mom and dad, but I believe I will be watching "good golf" this weekend instead.
Although the Phillies got off to a bad start with the Atlanta Braves, they showed up on April 9 to beat the Mets 8-3. They do love the warmer weather! The hot bats that were seen in spring training seem to have come back with this win with the Mets. Hopefully the trend continues and we don't have to sweat out every game counting on the bull pen.
The final game of March Madness with Louisville beating Michigan was a great ending to a tournament full of unpredictable upsets. The game was wild--just like watching a street game with the back and forth play and the up and down court scoring. I had hoped the women's Louisville team might win and make for a doubly sweet ending to the college basketball season, but Connecticut was just too strong.
