(North Cape May, NJ) Today, Cape May – Lewes Ferry (CMLF) officials announced that a new off-season base schedule will take effect as of November 3, 2013. The new base schedule features three round trips daily from Cape May, New Jersey and Lewes, Delaware.

The following is the new off-season schedule for the ferry operation:

Leaving Cape May, NJ           Leaving Lewes, DE

7:30 a.m.                               9:15 a.m.

11:00 a.m.                            12:45 a.m.

2:30 p.m.                               4:15 p.m.

According to Heath Gehrke, Director of Ferry Operations, the new off-season base schedule was established to meet current traffic patterns. “We must operate the ferry service as efficiently as possible,” Gehrke said. “The off-season schedule will include additional departures during holiday periods and on selected weekends. As always, we will add sailings on any dates when advance reservations justify it.”

Gehrke noted that the base schedule in the off-season, operating primarily in daylight hours, will yield significant savings at a time when ridership is down.
