The Cape soccer team delivered a 5-0 win over Polytech Oct. 1 at Legends Stadium and was set for a Thursday night home field showdown against Henlopen Conference powerhouse Caesar Rodney.
Cape led 2-0 at halftime on a pair of goals by Bill Swontek, one on an assist from Eliiot Young.
Swontek scored at 64:14 to open the second half to earn a hat trick.
Miguel Merino-Sanchez scored in his second consecutive game, and Drew Mulcahy scored on a penalty kick with three minutes remaining to close out the game.
