William 'Bill' Lord, active in American Legion

William (Bill) K. Lord, 76, of Millsboro, formerly of Delaware County, Pa., died Thursday Jan. 9, 2014.

He retired from eHeScott Paper in Chester, Pa. Bill is a past master of Chester (PA) Lodge 236 F.&A.M. After retirement, Bill moved to Millsboro. He was an active member of Sons of the American Legion Squadron 28 where he has held numerous executive offices, including past SAL commander of Squadron 28 (three times); past SAL detachment commander - Delaware; and past SAL national executive committeeman. Bill was also a charter member of Sons of Amvets Post 2 where he was currently serving as chaplain. He was also an active member of the Loyal Order of Moose.

Bill is survived by three siblings; three children; and eight grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Monday, Jan. 20, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services on 32013 Long Neck Rd, Millsboro.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations in Bill’s memory to Women Warriors Reintegration Program, c/o Home of the Brave, 6632 Sharps Road, Milford, DE 19963.
