John F. Lloyd, carpenter

John F. Lloyd, 50, of Lewes, passed away at home Saturday, April 12, 2014.

John was born in Wilmington, son of Barbara (Griffith) Lloyd of Middletown and the late William Lloyd Sr.

He was a carpenter by trade and had worked since the age of 16 in construction. He was a subcontractor with Crest Construction and Johnson Construction. For the past three years he worked at Fitzgerald’s Auto Salvage in Lincoln.

In addition to his father, John is preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Ann Wilson.

In addition to his mother, John is survived by his wife of 26 years, Francine (Daniels) Lloyd; a brother, William Lloyd Jr. of Rockledge, Fla.; a sister, Joyce Anne Lloyd of Waseca, Minn.; two stepsons, Kevin and Donald Torres; and his best buddy, a shih tzu named Max.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 19, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, with visitation after 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions made to the funeral home to help defray the funeral expenses.
