Wade Richardson, government lawyer

Wade Richardson, 71, of Columbia, Md., and Harpers Ferry, W.Va., died Monday, June 23, 2014, at Gilchrist Hospice Center in Columbia. He was the son of the late Alfred and Thelma Richardson of Rehoboth Beach and Pompano Beach, Fla.

Mr. Richardson is survived by a sister, Carolyn A. Metz of Rehoboth Beach and Pompano Beach; a nephew, George A. Metz III of Rehoboth Beach; and a niece, Julienne Reid of Clayton, N.C.; and many cousins.

He graduated from Ashland College in Ashland, Ohio; attended medical school in Antwerp, Belgium; and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He worked as a lawyer with the Internal Revenue Service and the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C.

The family suggests contributions of personal spare time be made to one's favorite charity.

A family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
