Jimmy Buffett tribute band will perform outdoors
August 18, 2014

The staff at Cape Henlopen is excited to celebrate both the end of summer and its 50-year anniversary with a free concert featuring popular band Jimmy and the Parrots. The Jimmy Buffett tribute band will perform beginning at 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 22.

This is an outdoor concert on the park’s parade ground opposite the Seaside Nature Center with parking at the beach bathhouse.

The Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park will be selling Dogfish Head Brewery beverages to raise money for the park. For comfort, visitors are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair. This is a family-friendly event, and while park entry fees are in effect, there is no charge for the concert.

Cape Henlopen State Park is in Lewes, approximately one mile east of the Cape May-Lewes Ferry. Both the park and the ferry are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their founding in 1964. The park offers public programs that reveal its history and will have a Free Entrance Day Oct. 17, exactly 50 years after the park opened its gates to the public.
