Join the Rehoboth Art League on Thursday, December 4, for an evening trip to the enchanting Longwood Gardens to experience its holiday lights display.
Advanced tickets are required for the trip and cost $100 per person. Ticket holders will be taken to the garden via a Jor-Lin Luxury coach bus, which will leave at 1:00pm sharp from the Rehoboth Beach Fresh Market parking lot, with check-in beginning at 12:30pm. The bus will begin its return trip to Rehoboth at 7:00pm, with arrival expected by 9:00pm.
Longwood Gardens is a place of ever-changing seasonal beauty, handcrafted feats of horticultural wonder, and an awe-inspiring collection of the most beautiful plants from around the globe.
This trip coincides with A Longwood Christmas, which sees the gardens transformed into a living jewel box where nature and elegance intertwine, and every path leads to a new treasure to behold. You can wander through hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights and visit the Historic Main Conservatory, where magnificently decorated trees, thousands of poinsettias, and fragrant flowers transform Pierre S. du Pont’s fabled glass house into a holiday wonderland. The trip is scheduled to provide time before and after sunset to ensure nothing is missed.
Longwood Gardens completed its ambitious expansion, Longwood Reimagined, in November of last year. It includes 17 acres of new garden experiences, a new 32,000-square-foot West Conservatory featuring a Mediterranean-inspired garden with pools and fountains, a bonsai courtyard, the relocation of the historic Cascade Garden, and the expanded 1906 restaurant with new event spaces, all designed to enhance the visitor experience and sustainability.
Attendees will have about three and a half hours to explore the extensive gardens, conservatories and special holiday decorations and lights. Meals are on your own, with options including The Café or the 1906 restaurant (advanced reservations are required for the restaurant).
