As a local Business Owner of a Professional Cleaning Service. I have noticed that it comes with positive things and then with like everything else in life there are some negative. When you clean Homes and Business’s professionally it just becomes natural for you to see every little detail that is not correct. Of course, this is great for Business and the growth of our Company which has grown very quickly because of our attention to detail.
However, the bad thing is everywhere I go things that are really dirty overwhelmingly irritate me as if I want to pause in my tracks and not move without fixing the issues. Sometimes, I feel I have a special kind of super hero powers because it seems every store, restaurant, hotel, and the local gas stations all I can see is the dirty areas. Sometimes, it’s so overwhelming I will not even use the restroom because if I see the restroom I most likely will not enjoy my meal.
So, I have decided that I should share some of my experiences over the summer and I am sure almost everyone can relate to this article. Unfortunately, 95 % of every public restroom in our local Beach area that I have seen is just beyond yuck! This includes not only includes restaurants but fast food places, department stores and the worst being gas stations.
I decided it’s time for a change! Yes, I feel this is an issue, not only is it a health risk and rather nasty that you could go into a bathroom and come back out glowing if someone turned a UV light on. When I think about local restaurant bathrooms being dirty my mind can’t help but think what does the kitchen look like? Does this change my thoughts about this restaurant? YES, of course it does but that’s probably my super hero cleaning skills taking over and assuming the worst.
I recently took my children school shopping for more than 6 hours and I had no choice but to use the restrooms in the department stores, one fast food place, and a gas station. I was sick to my stomach to see that every bathroom I went into was so bad I didn’t even want to touch anything but when you get past the age of 40 your bladder doesn’t give you a choice.
So, the realization hit me that we spend our hard earned money in all of these local establishments but we don’t have access to clean restrooms. Well, in my opinion this is quite unacceptable to me. Department Store’s bathrooms are beyond dirty as if no one even tries to clean them and these big Stores have corporate offices that should be accountable for this. I can’t help but think that the corporate office bathrooms are spotless. I believe most Local Establishments use employees that are not trained correctly or they just don’t care because no one complains almost as if it’s accepted here and it should not be.
This is a beautiful place to live with so many nice restaurants, stores, and beaches and my goal would be to try to encourage these places to bring bathroom cleanliness standards to a much higher level. We have so many visitors that come here for vacation which helps us all keep our jobs and I think it’s time to make the change to offer them clean restrooms!
I have decided I would like to see changes and of course what comes with changes is hard work. Let’s face it, if we are spending our money in these establishments I feel you should have access to clean bathrooms with NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
I have come to the conclusion that I want to make a difference in the community, I want to better our place to live. With all that being said, Dust n Time is now offering detailed restroom cleanings for department stores, fast food/ restaurants, and gas stations for our local area. We will be updating the Community on our Facebook page as we grow in this progress and we hope to be able to add before and after photos….
