The holiday spirit is certainly alive and well at and near the coastal region this weekend as we have several great events and happenings to tell you about in this week's "Weekender Blog," brought to you as always by the Oldfather Group of Compass RE.
With all of the local Christmas parades and so many other holiday-themed events happening over the next few days, you have plenty of great choices for getting outside and enjoying the season at and near the beaches.
Let's jump right into it. Here are our top choices for the weekend of December 1-3 in the local region.
Lewes Lights 2023 (December 1-31)
The fourth year of the "Lewes Lights" campaign kicks off this Friday, December 1, and runs through the end of the month in the "First Town in the First State."
As it has been since the beginning, this is a free, community holiday light tour that is powered by local residents who want to show off the resort town's Christmas spirit.
Dozens of homeowners throughout Lewes are again participating in 2023 in an effort to claim one or more of the awards that are up for grabs.

Holiday Stroll and Christmas Market (December 2)
Downtown Milford is the site this Saturday, December 2, for the 14th Annual Holiday Stroll, as well as the 4th Annual Christmas Market.
Scheduled for 3 to 8 p.m., the afternoon and evening will include children's activities, live holiday music, visits with Santa Claus, decorated shops and restaurants, and much more.

There are a number of great Christmas parades throughout the region again this year, with many coming up over the next few days.

- Ocean City - Saturday, December 2, at 11 a.m.
- Lewes - Saturday, December 2, at 5 p.m.
- Seaford - Saturday, December 2, at 7 p.m.
- Rehoboth Beach - Monday, December 4, at 6 p.m.
- Milton - Wednesday, December 6, at 6 p.m.
- Georgetown - Thursday, December 7, at 6 p.m.
- Bridgeville - Saturday, December 9, at 6 p.m.
- Camden - Saturday, December 9, at 6 p.m.
- Dagsboro - Tuesday, December 12, at 7 p.m.
- Felton - Friday, December 15, at 7 p.m.
