Free Movie in Lewes Canalfront Park-”Free Willy-August 9

- Private group -

Event has passed

Friends of the Lewes Canalfront Park with the support of Citizen's Bank are proud to present the classic family film “Free Willy” on the 25th anniversary of its release. The movie is free and open to the public and will be shown at dusk in beautiful Lewes Canalfront Park.

Fishermen separate a young orca whale, Willy, from his parents and he ends up in a tiny pool at a marine amusement park. Meanwhile, street kid Jesse runs afoul of the law and gets caught vandalizing the park, but gets off the hook (so to speak) provided he cleans up his mess at the park. While there, he befriends the ill-tempered whale, an unlikely fellow rebel, and teaches him tricks, something the trainer hasn't been able to do. The park's owner, seeing a chance to profit, has Jesse and Willy perform for customers, but Willy, aggravated by the crowds, doesn't cooperate. With Willy is a dud in front of audiences, the park owner plans some bad things, and Jesse and his friends must risk everything to try to free Willy.

Bring your blanket or lawn chair and maybe a picnic supper for free, family entertainment in the great outdoors.
