Kids learn the basics of marine science

Sun Otter Tours’ Citizen Science Tour provides kids (and parents/grandparents) the opportunity to participate in the collection of data on the Indian River and Rehoboth bays. Working with naturalists and educators at the Delaware Seashore State Park and Center for the Inland Bays, participants collect data, including temperature, salinity, and nitrates using scientific tools and methods. Using a seine net, both kids and adults capture marine life to briefly study before returning them to the bays. Kids get hands-on experience in collecting important data and an understanding of how it is used.

The 3-hour morning tour gives kids a great start in learning about coastal science and nature. To book a tour for you and your future scientist, visit www.SunOtter.com.
