THE REHOBOTH BEACH JAZZ FEST POSTPONED UNTIL 2021.
The Delaware Celebration of Jazz 501 [C] [3] non-Profit who produces the Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival is sad to announce that the 31st Annual 2020 Jazz Festival will be postponed until 2021.
The board of directors and the president of the organization unanimously decided to postpone the Festival because of the Corona virus pandemic. We feel the health and safety of our attendees and all who help to produce the Festival, including our volunteers, must be our highest priority. The president Dennis Santangini said, because of the large numbers we draw and the uncertainty of this pandemic, we do not want to put anyone in danger of contracting this virus. It would be very hard to follow social distancing guidelines in the RB Convention Center and the Cape High School Theater since we always have sold out concerts. We have been working diligently to arrange for all of our 2020 Artists to perform in 2021, keeping all the shows the same. Everything will be the same, all the same seating, same timing and same venues. The only thing changing will be the dates. The dates for next year are October 14, 15, 16 & 17, 2021.
We are providing two (2) options for our 2020 Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival ticket holders. To help the Artist and the music industry we have created the “Be a Hero” program.
Option #1A: We are asking for your help and support of the music industry and our festival by allowing us to transfer your 2020 ticket purchases to next year’s 2021 Festival.
Option #1B:For those of you that might be weary to attend, you may decide to transfer your 2020 tickets to 2021, and then give your tickets to a friend, a loved one or even a music student of your choice.
Everyone who chooses the “Be A Hero Program” Options #1A or 1B will be entered into a random lottery to receive 1 of the following 5 gifts:
- A two (2) night stay at one of our sponsoring hotels during Jazz Fest 2021.
- Two (2) front row seats at our 2022 RB Grand Jam Show
- One (1) of three (3) Gift Certificates to a RBJF Restaurant Sponsor during Jazz Fest 2021.
Option #2; Honoring a request for a refund.
We have sent out an eblast to all our ticket buyers with their options and instructions on how to transfer their tickets or ask for a refund.“I am sure everyone understands how much the whole music industry, including the Artists, are hurting and we intend to do everything we can to keep it alive” said Santangini. The sense that “The Show Must Go On” runs deep through our veins and we are working on something fabulous with artists that will be unique, and we will be announcing soon.
