Retiring the 4% Rule - Class at the Lewes Public Library 1/15/26
Retirees and those approaching retirement are invited to attend a free educational seminar, “Retiring the 4% Rule: Modern Retirement Withdrawal Strategies That Stretch Dollars Further,” taught by Robert Jeter, CFP® of Back Bay Financial Planning & Investments on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 5:00–6:00 p.m. at the Lewes Public Library.
The seminar will explore why the long-standing 4% rule may no longer be sufficient—or appropriate—for today’s retirees and will introduce modern, research-based withdrawal strategies designed to improve sustainability, flexibility, and peace of mind in retirement.
Attendees will learn:
- Why market volatility, inflation, and longer life expectancies have challenged traditional withdrawal rules
- How dynamic withdrawal strategies can adapt to changing market conditions
- Practical ways retirees can better align spending with portfolio performance
- Common pitfalls that can quietly erode retirement income
The class is sponsored by the Delware Money School, a program of the Delaware Community Reinvestment Action Council, and is intended purely for educational purposes.
Walk-ins are welcome. Advance registration is encouraged and can be completed through the Lewes Public Library calendar, or by contacting:
- Email: Lisa@backbayfp.com
- Phone/Text: 302-316-1820
Space may be limited.
This seminar is ideal for retirees, pre-retirees, and anyone seeking a deeper understanding of how to create a more resilient retirement income strategy in today’s market environment.
