FREEDOM BOAT CLUB DELAWARE

FAQS

"Besides unlimited boating, what are some of the perks of being a Freedom Boat Club Delaware member?"
- We have a full social calendar of special events and activities.

- You will receive discounts at Freedom Boat Club membership partners.

- Each of our fishing boats is equipped with a recreational boat fishing license.  All you need to legally fish from our boat is a free Delaware FIN number, which can be obtained at https://www.delaware-fin.com/

"But I've never driven a boat before in my life.."
No problem! We offer free 1-on-1 unlimited training by our USCG Licensed Captains who will ensure that your days on the water are always safe and fun!

"Can I use the boats at the other club locations?"
Absolutely! You will have reciprocal access to all of the 185+ FBC Club Locations worldwide!

"Can I bring my friends/family/dogs on the boat?"
Of course! As long as the person behind the helm is the trained FBCD member, you may bring whoever you'd like to, as long as you don’t exceed the boats capacity which you can find here on our Fleet page.

“Will I always have access to boats?”
You will have unlimited access to our fleet. To manage availability, we split the reservation hours from 8 am to 1:30 pm, and 2:30 pm to 30 minutes before sunset. You can have 4 reservations scheduled out at any time. You may book up to 6 months in advance, or you can even call in the same day to make a reservation!

"Do I need to have my own boat insurance?"
Nope! When you complete your New Member Orientation with our captains, you will then be covered under our comprehensive insurance.

"Are there any legal requirements on my end?"
√ The State of Delaware requires Boating Safety Education for anyone born after 12/31/77, who will be operating a motorized vessel in Delaware.  Certification can be obtained by completing on online course, available at https://www.boat-ed.com/delaware/ or by completing a classroom course offered periodically by the US Coast Guard Auxiliary (find the one nearest to you here:  http://www.cgaux.org/units.php)

“What are the membership costs, and are there any extra fees?”
There is a one-time entry fee to join the club, and monthly dues from then on. You will also pay for the exact amount of fuel you use, measured through our fuel flow meter, but we will ensure that the boat is fueled for you.

"Who should I contact to find out more?"
Please contact Captain Holly Ann at hfiruta@freedomboatclub.com or (302) 222-8109!
