‘Real Women: Veterans of Vietnam’ program set March 19

The Rehoboth Beach Public Library will present “The Real Women: Veterans of Vietnam,” at 6 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, at at 226 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth Beach. Delaware journalist Nancy E. Lynch will read and discuss wartime correspondence she received from real Delaware women stationed in Vietnam. With references to Kristin Hannah’s best seller, “The Women,” a fictitious account of an Army nurse’s experiences in war-torn Vietnam, Lynch seeks to bridge facts and fiction, giving a glimpse into the reality behind the novel.

Delaware military nurses wrote to Nancy’s Vietnam Mailbag, her award-winning newspaper column that ran from 1968 to 1972 in The Morning News in Wilmington. The event is free to attend. To register, go to delawarelibraries.libcal.com/event/14195919.
