Screenings of “Sentimental Value,” a nominee for nine Academy Awards including Best Picture, will open Friday, Feb. 13, at the Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater near Lewes.
In Joachim Trier's Norwegian family drama, sisters Nora (Renate Reinsve, Best Actress) and Agnes (Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, Best Supporting Actress) reunite with their estranged father, the charismatic Gustav (Stellan Skarsgård, Best Supporting Actor), a once-renowned director who offers stage actress Nora a role in what he hopes will be his comeback film. When Nora turns it down, she soon discovers he has given her part to an eager young Hollywood starlet, Rachel Kemp (Elle Fanning, Best Supporting Actress).
Classic romance titles screening this weekend include “Casablanca” (1943), “An Affair to Remember” (1957) and “Moonstruck” (1987).
