14th RD Democrats to meet Sept. 10

September 4, 2025

The 14th Representative District Democratic Committee will meet Wednesday, Sept. 10, at Iron Hill Brewery on Route 1 north of Rehoboth Beach. Guest speakers will be state leaders Auditor Lydia York and Rep. Alonna Berry, D-Milton.

The program will begin at 5 p.m. with a Dutch treat dinner, followed by remarks from York and Berry, and committee business at 6 p.m.

York, the first African-American woman elected to an executive office in Delaware, will discuss her role as state auditor of accounts. Her office serves as a watchdog over other state agencies, conducting audits of the government’s use of taxpayer dollars and investigating allegations of fraud. The recipient of a law degree, MBA, bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA license, York has led the auditor’s office since 2023.

Berry, the newly elected state representative from District 20, will discuss her tough campaign and her new role in the House of Representatives. She supports expanding early childhood education, increasing access to affordable housing and investing in clean energy.

All registered Democrats are welcome to participate in 14th RD meetings. Those planning to attend the meeting should RSVP by Monday, Sept. 8, to c.fruchtman@comcast.net.
