17th Northbeach 5K draws 184

Alise Reynolds of Philadelphia was the first female finisher, with a time of 20:23.2.
Bill Pilkington of Chantilly, Va., finished 12th with a 21:41.7.
Megan Lambert of Frederiksted, Virgin Islands, ran to 14th place with a time of 21:56.4.
Lauren Egan, 14, from Odenton, Md., took 32nd place in 24:35.1.
Richard Cross of Wilmington ran 27:11.6.

Jonathan Wegman of Camp Hill, Pa., ran to 13th place with a time of 21:46.2.
Mason Lambert, 11, of Frederiksted, Virgin Islands, ran to ninth place in 20:57.3.
Cape grad Lauren Brueckner of Ocean City, Md., ran 23:40.4.

The 17th annual Northbeach 5K drew nearly 200 participants to Dewey Beach June 24 to run with clear skies and 80-degree weather.

It was truly a race to the finish, as Aaron Easter, 23, of Elkton, Md., took the top spot by .2 seconds over runner-up Austin McGinley, 24, of Rising Sun, Md. Their times were 18:17.1 and 18:17.3, respectively.

Rounding out the top five were Robert Brusso of Assawoman, Va., in 19:19; Walter Schroeder of Rehoboth Beach in 19:43; and Chris Racine of Ocean View in 19:57. 

Winning the women’s race and taking sixth overall was Alise Reynolds of Philadelphia in 20:23. Following her to the finish line were Kristin Guerrini of York, Pa., in 20:43; Courtney Wallace of Wilmington in 20:59; and Megan Lambert of Frederiksted, Virgin Islands, in 21:55.
