2010 boat show schedule set

December 27, 2009

United States Yacht Shows Inc. has finalized its schedule of premier boat shows for 2010 in the Chesapeake Bay. Annapolis, Md., has been the site for in-water boat shows since the inaugural event in 1970.

From these early beginnings, the company has grown to five events, including the United States Sailboat Show and the United States Powerboat Shows where 100,000 boating enthusiasts visit the city docks and inner harbor of this quaint, Colonial sea- port each fall.

Additional events have been developed over the years, including the Bay Bridge Boat Show in April, the Annapolis Spring Sails Event and the Annapolis Nautical Flea Market in late May.

Each boat show features several hundred boats of all sizes, both in-water and on land, and an acre of open and tented exhibits of boating hardware, accessories, rigging, clothing, jewelry, and boating lifestyle items. Seminars, workshops, boat demos, food, and entertainment are integral to the overall experience in each event.

Due to the enthusiastic response to the introduction of the “Take the Wheel” interactive workshop, this program will be expanded and offered in all three 2010 boat shows.  An active outdoor living area continues to expand, featuring kayaks, canoes, paddleboards and active gear.

The shows include:

• Bay Bridge Boat Show - April 22–25 at Kent Island, Stevensville, Md.
• Annapolis Spring Sails Event - May 8-9 in Annapolis, Md.
• Annapolis Nautical Flea Market - May 29-30 at the Navy Marine Corps Stadium, Annapolis, Md.
• United States Sailboat Show - October 7-11 in downtown Annapolis, Md.
• United States Powerboat Show - October 14-17 in downtown Annapolis, Md.
