Rehoboth Beach Main Street recognized the winners of the 2019 Cottage & Town Awards with a presentation May 5 at The Pines on Baltimore Avenue. The awards recognize residential and commercial property owners who contribute to the charm, beauty and history of downtown Rehoboth through architectural and landscape architectural renovation, restoration and preservation.
This year’s winners were Mark and Janice Hanson of 10 Oak Ave. for their residential property; The Pines Restaurant for its commercial property; and Dottie Cirelli and Myrna Kelley of 511 New Castle St. Ext. for their landscaping.
“History is a big part of our town,” said Greer Maneval, Cottage & Town Awards Committee chair, in a press release announcing the winners. “The preservation of its appearance is such a strong influence in how it is perceived by all. This is why the award was established.”
The 2019 award categories included residential renovation, restoration and preservation; commercial renovation, restoration and preservation; and landscape architectural renovation, restoration and preservation. Winners received an embossed bronze plaque.
