For the 30th year, the Lewes Chamber of Commerce and the British Car Club of Delaware partnered to host the Lewes British Motorcar Show May 3, at the Lewes ferry terminal grounds overlooking the Delaware Bay. The event gave owners of British cars a chance to show off their classic and future classic vehicles, and network with fellow British car enthusiasts. The event also gave fans of British cars the opportunity to admire and talk with car owners in this picturesque setting.
The show concluded with a parade through town led by the winning cars, which were announced by event founder Mike Tyler and committee member Trevor Mees. Lewes Mayor-elect Amy Marasco presented the trophies for first, second and third in several categories, and for Best in Show. This year’s judges were Heath Gehrke and Nikky Fisher representing the Lewes Chamber board, Lewes Deputy Mayor Khalil Saliba, WRDE News anchors Charlie Sokaitis and Kristina DeRobertis, and British Car Club of Delaware member Charlie O’Donnell. Jack Long, another BCCD member, coordinated the judging.
The show also featured a DJ playing British music, a 50/50 raffle and a raffle table with themed baskets, British-themed items and car-related items.
