20th District Representative candidate forum set July 31
The League of Women Voters of Sussex County will host a forum featuring candidates vying for the the 20th District state representative seat from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, July 31, at Milton Elementary School, 512 Federal St., Milton.
Democrat Alonna Berry and Republican Nikki Miller are running in a special election to fill the seat previously held by Stell Parker Selby. The 20th District includes Lewes, Milton, Nassau, Pinetown, Belltown, and parts of Harbeson and Georgetown.
Following brief opening statements, the candidates will answer written questions from the audience. Note cards and pencils for posing questions will be available at the door and from monitors in the aisles throughout the program. To submit questions in advance, District 20 residents may go to sussexlwv.org.
American Sign Language interpreters will be provided by ASL Connections. The program will be livestreamed and available afterward on the league’s website and YouTube channel.
The special election will be held Tuesday, Aug. 5. Voters must be 18 years of age or older by the date of the special election, residing in State Representative District 20, and registered to vote. Eligible voters may vote regardless of political party affiliation. For more voting information, go to ivote.de.gov.
