38th RD GOP members write letters opposing EV mandate
The 38th District Republican Club PAC met May 22 to write letters to Delaware Gov. John Carney and Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control Secretary Shawn Garvin regarding the pending mandate to ban sales of gas-powered vehicles in Delaware.
Rep. Ron Gray, R-Selbyville, was present to answer members’ questions about the mandate. Gray then hand-delivered all letters to Garvin and Carney.
The effort was to coincide with the grassroots call to action from Rep. Rich Collins, R-Millsboro, on the same date at Sussex Central High School.
Members discussed a variety of talking points on the issues surrounding the EV mandate in preparation for writing their letters. One such point was that other options exist for clean vehicular emissions, such as hybrid vehicles and hydrogen fuel cells.
The 38th District Republican Club meets the fourth Monday of every month and is open to new members.
